Why did you choose this career?

I chose this career inspired by my experiences while dating my high school sweetheart. I remember going through a few breakups and visiting my hairdresser, James Fierro, at Tangerine Salon. Every visit was like a rejuvenation; he brought me back to life. James planted the seed by saying, "If I can do it—become a hairdresser—you can too. You have the eye for it with your drawing and painting skills. So, go for it." He wished he had gone to the Aveda Institute sooner, so I took his advice and did. I wanted to help people feel renewed and empowered, to give them the confidence to face life’s challenges. That’s why I became a hairdresser.

What motivates you to work hard?

My dream of becoming a platform artist drives me. Attending the Redken Symposium recently reignited this passion. I'm focused on revisiting my goal of becoming a platform artist for Redken.
